To Create a New Serialized Item List and Add Child Items

  1. Open the Lists – Serialized Items topic and click on the Expand fully icon.

The Lists – Serialized Items topic opens.

  2. Click the Delete icon to remove and disassociate a particular serialized item list document from the selected item.
  3. If a serialized item list document already exists, to associate it, either type in the document number and revision or click the Query Documents link and search for the relevant serialized item list document.
  4. Drag and drop the serialized item list document onto the Lists – Serialized Items topic.
  5. If a serialized item list document does not already exist, to create and associate one, click the New link.

    The following dialog opens.

  6. Select the appropriate serialized list class and click Ok.

A new serialized item list document is automatically created and displays in a new Content Pane.

AssetWise automatically creates a document instance that carries the same number as the parent physical item. The following defaults are used:

    Item List Number <serialized item number> [<version>] <class>
    Revision 01
    Title <Physical Item description>
Class <Document class related to Product Structure Type>
Tip: From the serialized item list you can go to the document by clicking the Go to Document icon in the Item List Number field, or you can go to the physical item by clicking the Go to Physical Item icon in the For Physical Item field.
  7. If required, open the Serialized Item List topic and click the Expand icon.
  8. Click the Delete icon to remove and disassociate a particular physical item from the parent item.
  9. To associate child physical items, either type in the quantity and physical item number / version, or click the Query Physical Items link and search for the relevant child physical items.
  10. Drag and drop the physical item(s) onto the Serialized Item List topic. Edit quantities as required.
  11. If each serialized child physical item requires position definition, highlight each item in the serialized item list and then type in a position, quantity, and remark (Optional).
  12. If alternative serialized items can be fitted into the same position, highlight each item in the serialized item list and then type in a priority and item number / version.
  13. Click the Save icon at the end of each row or click the action bar Save icon to save all entries.
  14. To close the serialized item list, click the Close icon.
Note: The position quantity must equal the total quantity defined in the serialized item list. For example, if an item consists of 3 child items of the same type, then three positions must be defined.
